A Safer, More Reliable System for Your Home

The big electrical upgrade at 415 MacLaren is now complete!

Over the last few months, the Asset Renewal team worked to modernize the building’s main electrical system. This means homes at 415 MacLaren have a power system that is safer, more reliable, and easier to maintain.

What We Did

We upgraded the building’s main electrical switchboard, the part of the building that sends power to things like elevators, lighting, and laundry rooms.

This work builds on the 600-volt system upgrade completed during the recent generator replacement, giving 415 MacLaren a fully modern and reliable electrical system.

Why it Matters to You

You might not see the electrical system every day, but it affects almost everything in your home.

Before:

  • Shutdowns: Any electrical work on part of the system meant shutting down power to the entire building.
  • Delays: We sometimes had to access the hydro vault (not under our control), causing delays.

These steps meant more disruptions for you.

Now:

  • Fewer disruptions: Maintenance work can now be completed without full-building shutdowns
  • More reliable service: A modern system means fewer outages and faster response times
  • Improved safety: Enhanced controls and clear safety labeling reduce risks for both tenants and staff
  • Stronger building performance: Real-time monitoring makes the system easier to maintain and operate consistently

We’re Done!

The electrical upgrade at 415 MacLaren is officially complete, giving the building a safer, stronger, and more reliable electrical system for years to come.
